This blog will be used to hold information relevant to the Principles of Macroeconomics course (Semester 1, 2006-2007). Links will be given to the syllabus, as well as to articles and other relevant information discussed in the course. We will be using two books for this course: the first is the standard text "Economics: Principles and Applications" by Hall and Lieberman. There is a 2006 update that we will be using - not so much because the information has changed, as because this is the version of the text that will be used for the Micro course which follows this one. You can find this book in the bookstore, on Amazon (
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0324335814/), or through almost any other source.
The second book to be used is "The World is Flat" by Thomas Friedman (
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0374292795/). This book is fairly inexpensive and a must read for a good understanding of what is going on in the world today from an economics perspective.
